Berlin Wall Selfie…

I like history, castles, beer, and food.

I am a simple fella. When I was in Amsterdam, I enjoyed the Heineken tour more than the Van Gogh museum.

Travel skills for Prague, and the Czech Republic.

Prague:

Getting around Prague, and other cities on buses, trams, and metro:

The ticket you buy is based on time of travel. If it is going to take you 25 min. to get there, pay for 30 min. of time. You get the same ticket for all 3 methods of transportation, (bus, tram, and metro) and it is all the same price. You validate your ticket, and the time starts. There are scanners (or perhaps stampers) that you put your ticket in as you get on the bus or tram. I believe it is at the gate in the metro stations.

Trains, city to city;

This can be a little tricky. If you are trying to get back to Prague from another city, remember in Czech, Prague is called Praha… It will help you if you know where you are going, and what train you want. Check out this website: http://www.cd.cz/en/default.htm When you get in line to purchase your ticket, look for a younger person. You are doing this because you are hoping the person speaks English. Our tickets cost us 219 Kc ($9.13 USD) one way. You will get a ticket that might as well have no information on it. It will look like the photo.
