Biscuits, and Bacon Chanterelle Gravy

In the fall, I love to go foraging for chanterelle mushrooms. A great way to use mushrooms, is in the classic American breakfast dish, Biscuits, and Gravy!

Make it stand out.

  • Full-size batch serves 4 people

    16 Slices Bacon

    5 tablespoons flour

    5 tablespoons bacon grease

    5 cups of milk

    Fresh ground black pepper

    1 tsp of marjoram or oregano (Pick one)

    1 tsp onion powder

    1/2 tsp garlic powder

    1 tablespoon ground chipotle pepper

    This recipe probably does not need salt because of the bacon.

  • Half batch

    8 slices of bacon

    2.5 tablespoons flour

    2.5 tablespoons of bacon fat

    2.5 cups of milk

    Fresh Ground Black pepper

    1.5 tsp ground Chipotle pepper

    0.5 tsp Marjoram (or Oregano)

    0.25 tsp garlic powder

    Chanterelles!
